Giving Back

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

The residents at Park Hills Crossing sure know how to give back. We have completed our Christmas project, and it was better than we thought. Our goal was to help two families out with food and a special something that would make them smile this Christmas. We exceeded our goal and was able to help three families out this year. The residents at Park Hills Crossing are the most caring and sharing people I have had the honor to know. Between the quilt club making beautiful quilts for the homeless and the entire Community providing a Christmas for three families, what a great place.

Baby It’s Cold Outside

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

The calendar said that the first day of Winter is December 22.  Couldn’t prove that by me!!  We had lot’s of snow yestersday and it is very very cold today, or at least I think 9 degrees is very very cold. Guess what, they said more snow tonight.  To all of our snowbirds who is sitting in the sunshine today, Wish You Were Here!!  Just kidding, it was beauitful this morning the fog had froze on the trees, the snow on the ground and believe it or not the sun was shinning.  It looked like a Christmas card.  I don’t mind Winter so much, it gives me an excuse not to have to do yard work.  This works for me!!

The Clubhouse is Beauitful

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

All of the residents came into the clubhouse on Tuesday and decorated for the Holidays.  Christmas trees up and down stairs, lights everywhere, the wreaths are hung and in no time at all the Clubhouse looks like Christmas.   This is an annual event for the residents, they have a great time doing this , enjoying coffee and a lot of laughs.  We decided this year to put a patriotic  in the foyer, it’s all red, white and blue with American Flags.  It’s an awesome tree!!

Taking Care of Each Other

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

This is a Community like no other, people helping people is what they do.  Our community has had some cataract surgeries this year.  It is amazing how this group of people has been here for each other.  We have a list of people who volunteer to drive to appointments or run errands if a neighbor is in need.  There is a lot of 55+ communities around, but none of them compare with Park Hills Crossing.  It is our people, living in this community that make it so special.  I’m proud to be a part of this wonderful community.
